Phil Audet
Phil is relatively new to the area, having moved from Ottawa to Mallorytown in 2019 to run a family business. He quickly realized that although he loved making cider and running Busl, he needed to pursue his own passion combining renewable energy and beer! As an engineer in renewables, he began designing his ‘destination’ brewery with the expectation that it would be completely off grid with no back up generator, a first in Canada. Phil opened his business, Arbru Solar Brewery in 2022 and it has quickly become a local hot spot.Â
Phil is constantly looking for creative ways to grow the business and improve the visitor experience. He has had an impact on the Brockville area putting on events such as Oktoberfest, open mic nights, winter dome experiences, private parties and more. He has supported local charities including Gananoque Refugee Settlement, the 1000 Island Regatta and other local charities. Â
Arbru received the award for new business of the year in early 2023 from the E D C of the Township of Front of Yonge – being recognized for his innovation and creativity and for his support for a variety of community causes. He has been featured on CTV News, Ottawa Business News, Global News Kingston and TVA.
