What is the Amazing Chase?

​

The Amazing Chase is an outrageous take on the old school scavenger hunt, modeled after the popular TV show “The Amazing Race”. On event day, your team will be handed a list of challenges with different point values.   Quickly scan the missions and decide which ones to complete and when! Rush through some of the seemingly easy ones to get warmed up, or head straight to the wild and crazy ones to jump ahead with the most points. Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone!

How much does it cost?

​

The team entry fee is $40, per team and FREE for YPN Membership.  Teams can be 3-6 people.

What if I'm not athletically inclined?

​

Unlike other “race” style events, The Amazing Chase is not a checkpoint style event. Superior physical prowess is not required. The challenges have been designed for all to enjoy!

Is there a pre-event check-in?

​

Yes! Registration begins at 12:30 pm and the race begins at 1 pm.  Stay tuned for specific pre-event details.

​

What should my team wear?

​

Dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather. But don’t forget, bonus points will be awarded to “themed teams” who choose to dress in costume.

What should I bring?

​

Smartphone: Make sure it is fully charged and ready to go!

Water: There is no set course, so no water stations are available

Pen and Paper: You never know when those will come in handy and help you earn valuable points.

Do I have to sign a waiver?

​

No. By registering for the event, your team agrees to waive all rights and claims against the event, Brockville Young Professionals Network, and the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce.

How long is the Amazing Chase?

​

You will have three hours to complete as many challenges as possible. 

​

How does the scoring work?

​

Use your smartphone to take pictures of your team completing the challenges and send them to your moderator via APP that you will be prompted to download upon registration who will track your team points.  Each challenge has pre-assigned points and we will be tracking submissions throughout the event. Photos are judged against the same criteria as decided by the judges, whose decision is final. If you end up at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the event your team will win a prize, but most importantly bragging rights.

A few more things to note:

​

  • Follow the instructions for each mission to the best of your ability

  • Please don’t break the law or cause damage to public or private property

  • Stay safe! We are not responsible for any injuries during this event

  • Please be respectful to local businesses!

  • Follow all COVID guidelines 

  • Include at least one team member in the photo unless otherwise specified

  • Please take clear pictures so we can judge accurately

  • Only original pictures will be accepted

  • Judges decisions are final but we always strive to be fair
